Owner Darien Fischer with A.B. & Eva Makk
We were honored to host a private reception for the Cancer League of Colorado
on Monday evening, May 11, 2015. Internationally renowned artists A.B. and Eva Makk
, who are major supporters of the league, were celebrated at the event.
The Makks are known as "the first family of the art world." Eva Makk has been called “the world’s foremost living impressionist painter.” Her husband, Americo Makk, is an internationally acclaimed master painter and the portrait artist of two U.S. presidents, Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter. Their son, A.B. Makk, is an international award-winning painter of sparkling water scenes and sublime landscapes. Their work has been featured prominently in numerous major public exhibitions, as well as museums and galleries around the world. Buyers were delighted by a beautiful selection of the Makk family's artwork available at the reception, and several purchases were made.
Chef Kenneth Callahan created a delicious menu for the evening, which included a gourmet fruit-and-cheese spread, as well as fabulous firecracker shrimp, lobster sliders, bacon-wrapped scallops and other delicacies.
The Cancer League of Colorado is a 100-percent volunteer-based, non-profit organization whose mission is to raise funds to support innovative cancer research and cancer-related services in the state. Each year they host the wildly successful Hope Ball, which will next occur on May 7, 2016.
